I'm in the garden dress.....

While we were away this past week our blog was featured on
Rhonda's Creative Life!  She writes a cool blog with
beautiful sewing projects & oh yeah she is a Pilot!
Our first feature that made our day...thanks Rhonda!
She also featured Janlynn from Sew More
who is an accomplished seamstress that we aspire to &
know her cool projects from my mom's blog!

We made this garden dress of this lavender soft stripe
with muted
flowers fabric.
My mom had it in her fabric stash & could not
decide how to sew it up as it was quite sheer.

Not hard for us as it came......
pre shirred in the middle! lol

So we made it a double layer & that took
care of the sheerness.

My mom did a little hand sewing for the front bodice.

Powder Puff Skirt

We finally finished this skirt we were working on for my mom!
This powder puff fabric is leftovers from silk curtains that
my mom had that were pin tucked.

The hem was done in hot pink because she likes contrast!

I think this skirt would look cute in a boutique!

A sewing space

This is where I sew with my little Singer Featherweight
221-1....my kitchen table.  All of us 4 girls can easily fit around this
pub style table to spend some time to sew together.
I do have a "sewing room" that houses my work horses like the
 Singer Precision, Singer Pro Finish
over locker & my for fun Janome 350e Memory Craft
Embroidery Machine.

But since finding this little black beauty, I want
her to front & center....in my sitting room.
I am looking for a little table to put by
the front grande window & that is where I plan
to sew.....by the natural light!

Modern Skirt

This skirt is one that I always get asked "where did you buy your skirt"?
Well.....I made it!  A while back  too & even though I thought
the fabric was trendy at the time....a few years later it is still

The Swirl Dress

This dress is a combination  of Butterick 5317 pattern using the bodice
& for the skirt I used my own bias cut skirt patter.
I added a little ruffle to the bodice.

Happy Stitching!

Theme Friday's

This weeks theme for Me Made 13 is water!

Beth & I did not finish our projects so we are
sharing my moms who finished hers last night!

Now we do get enough of water around here, from rainfall to
floods but we thought we would share the fun kind of water....that you swim in!

This is my first time my mom has made swim wear & she always has problems
with the RTW fit so she designed this simple bandeau top.

No pattern....just her measurements with the marked down swimwear fabric that comes
rolled up in under a meter for a few dollars!

We all made May!

My middle daughter wants in on the fun of this blog so let me introduce
Beth, who is at home from college!  In addition to trying a little
sewing she will be directing & filming our You Tube videos!

We are off to a great start for the first day of me made May!

We made 2 skirts from this pink & white stripe knit fabric.
Beth is wearing hers today & it was cut on the bias.

I made the patterns for both skirts using their  measurements.
